For example, a pant with a 36-inch raw inseam is pre-hemmed to 34 inches.This does not mean the pants are cut shorter. Instead, the bottom of the pant leg is double-folded (approximately 1 inch + 1 inch) and then stitched to achieve the 34-inch finished length.If you prefer a longer fit, a tailor can simply remove the stitching to restore the inseam to its original full length.
